TL;DR: your data stays on your phoneSHEield ("the app," "we," "our") is a personal safety app. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and — most importantly — that almost all of it never leaves your device.
SHEield does not have a server or backend. There is no user account, no sign-up, and no company database. Everything you enter — your profile, your trusted circle, your community posts — is stored locally on your phone only, using standard Android app storage. We (the developer) cannot see, access, or collect any of it.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party, advertiser, or analytics service, because we don't collect it in the first place. The only outside services the app ever talks to are:
Neither of these involves us — they're standard links to apps already on your phone.
Contacts you add to your Circle are stored locally on your device, associated with a SHEield ID you choose to share. This app build does not sync that information between devices or notify other users automatically.
SHEield is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. The app is intended for general use by anyone seeking personal safety tools.
Since all data lives on your device, you can delete everything at any time by using the "Reset SHEield" option in the app's Profile screen, or by uninstalling the app entirely — both permanently erase all locally stored data.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
